Robert Louis Stevenson School is an independent, therapeutic, coeducational, college preparatory day school in Manhattan. Located in a landmark building just off Central Park West, Stevenson serves students from all five boroughs of New York City, as well as the surrounding suburban areas of Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey and Connecticut.

MISSION
Stevenson seeks to prepare bright underachieving adolescents academically and developmentally for college. These are students who have been unable to negotiate the academic, social and emotional pressures of the typical high school environment. Stevenson students may have struggled with adjustment difficulties, problems with peers, mild depression or anxiety. Some have been diagnosed as learning disabled or Attention Deficit Disordered and many have been described as unmotivated or even "lazy." At Stevenson, the explicit purpose is academic; the implicit purpose is therapeutic and remedial, as necessary to enable our students to achieve academic goals. Small but challenging classes are offered in a warm caring milieu that includes personal therapeutic assistance and any required remedial help. Classes and Advising Groups average fewer than ten students. Well over 90% of Stevenson graduates attend colleges of their choice.

Robert Louis Stevenson School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin in administration of its admission policies, educational policies, scholarships and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
