Day at the Museum: Science Students Explore the AMNH
Students from Earth Science and Chemistry classes recently took their learning beyond the classroom with a visit to our neighbors at the Hall of Gems and Minerals at the American Museum of Natural History. Earth Science students examined the physical properties of minerals and explored the processes behind igneous rock formation. Meanwhile, Chemistry students investigated how the chemical composition of minerals influences the physical and optical properties of gemstones. Thank you to science teacher Vincent for leading this engaging excursion! We are fortunate to have world-class educational resources right in our neighborhood on the Upper West Side, providing students with meaningful opportunities to bring their learning to life just steps away from our building.
